Still Sewing!

Hi everyone! I'm still around and sewing. I can't lie, I've just really been lazy with blogging! I've been stuck on other social media...Periscope, Facebook, YouTube and twitter mainly. It's an addictive (viscous) cycle! With that said, I can't believe I actually stuck my nose into Snapchat recently too! Really? Don't I have enough to do already? If you've not got the addiction yet, DON'T DO IT!! LOL!

However, one thing I can talk about is the positive benefits I gained from two of the social media outlets, Facebook and Periscope. I joined a Facebook group called "Pericrafters" a few months ago. It's a group of wonderful people who craft! (Men and women). All are very supportive and there's loads of inspiration!! The only criteria for joining is that you use Periscope occasionally to communicate about your craft or whatever you like. I've met so many great people already! They have challenges, giveaways, virtual tours, swaps and just loads of fun!!

April was the first Pericrafter challenge I joined and it was a T-shirt challenge. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to complete the many T-shirts I wanted to for the challenge. (LOL! I never do...grand imagination, no time!). However, I did get to complete a new pattern I wanted to try and it turned out pretty good too! It was the Named Selja Knot Tee.

I purchased the Named Selji T-shirt pattern as a PDF download. It was a very quick and easy T-shirt to put together! Let me tell you, it took longer (at least I felt that way) to pin the PDF together, trace it and cut out the pieces than it did to sew it up! I elected not to include the pattern neck and sleeve bands this time to make it a quicker sew. I will include them next time. I also made it sleeveless too. I use a heathered blue and a white rayon Lycra knit fabric (for contrast) from my stash to create this cute color blocked T-shirt! And I love it!

I have to admit when I first saw the pattern sample photo, I thought this was a woven top! Probably made from silk or rayon...something flowy like that. However, as a fashion creator, we have the option to do just that if we like, right?!! (And I just might do that too!)

All in all, I really do like it and the pattern will make my pattern rotation list!

Thanks for stopping by and giving me a little of your reading time, I really do appreciate it, especially in this crazy new social media world we live in!! Reading is definitely fundamental!!

Let Your Creativity Shine!

  1. Hey Myra! I really like the tee, and the way you color-blocked it! I'm glad you are still sewing, and finding time for other social media sites, lol!

    1. Thank you Ms. Vanessa! I do love this T a lap and it may be one of my TNT's! Social media outlets have become a time eater for me and I have to be very strict with my limitations! It's fun, but you can get stuck and never get anything else done!

  2. Adorable t-shirt! Love the color-blocking!

  3. This is the cutest t-shirt. I like it better color blocked. The heather and the cream work well together. Now, as for the addictions...I'm there with you on Periscope and love every minute of it. I often forget to feed my Youtube channel....but then, you are there too. So of course I can't get away with taking care of that as well. Where can I get the time? I just love everything I do. Thanks for being there too.

    1. Thanks Andrea! If you ever figure out where to get the time from, please hook a sistah up! LOL!

It truly makes me happy to hear from you....
