Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend!
This post is all about a virtual pajama party! A sewing community group I belong to is hosting a virtual pajama party where we all created our own pajamas and then we periscope about them!
Since I don't own any really good pajamas (not sure why I never did this before!), I decided to make two pair!
First up is a pair I made that are a little bit "spicier" for the hubby! I purchased the fabric from Hancocks a few weeks ago with the intention of just making a simple nightgown. That was prior to finding out about the virtual Pajama party. (Great timing!) The fabric Is an Aqua colored, light weight cotton, with a little bit of stretch and a very soft to the touch.
I used an actual pattern and of course I changed it a little bit (you know how I do!), the pattern is Kwik Sew 3726. It's a very easy and quick pattern to follow and the instructions were great!
It's a lingerie pattern that has a teddy and a slip version. I used the slip version to create my pajama top. The changes I made to the pattern were:
- Elastic under the bust for fit
- Decorative lace under the bust
- Decorative ribbon for the straps
The bottoms where made using my favorite one-piece legging pattern Kwik Sew 3770...
...I just widened the legs a bit so they weren't snug and added an elastic waistband. I am very pleased with my results!
For my second pair, I made the pajama top from a pattern I created a few months ago for a cruise. You can see that top and read the review HERE.
The bottoms where made using my favorite one-piece legging pattern Kwik Sew 3770 (Same as above). For this pair, I decided to make them shorts instead of pants and added a cuff.
The fabric was in my stash and is a bright yellow colored, light weight cotton with the little stretch. I purchased it several months ago from Hancocks.
I added Navy colored piping around the neckline, the armhole, and the cuffs of the bottom, along with matching Navy colored buttons… I really love the contrast look!
